First time on Superior! We put the Hewescraft Boats Pro V 200 to the test in 5 foot rollers. It handled great. We did a long run to the outers and jigged up some Lakers. Brandan definitely had the hot stick 🔥sniping them with the LVS34. I’ll definitely be doing more trips up to the big water if anyone’s interested in going up for the spring run.

It was good to see little Georgie and his dad Joel again from Indiana. They brought a few family members for a fun morning of fishing. They reeled in sturgeon, walleye, smallmouth bass, suckers, mooneye, and drum. Always a fun day on the Croix!

Finally! Rain is a good thing. The river is setting up to be a repeat of last year. We had perfect conditions for loads of shad in the system. This totally kills the walleye bite in the fall, but makes for great sturgeon fishing. I’m not upset about that, as the lake sturgeon has become my favorite fish to catch. The majority of my clients had no issues at all targeting sturgeon instead of walleye. If you’ve never felt the rush of a good sturgeon tug, then you haven’t lived!!!

Walleye Abound on the Scenic St. Croix River with Croix Boys Guided Adventures

We had a great morning out on the water with Daniel and their crew for our Private Morning 4-Hour River Fishing Trip on the St. Croix River. June is a wonderful time to be out on the river, as the Walleye are actively feeding and the weather is pleasant and comfortable. We launched the boat at 8:00 AM from 9134 MN-95 and wasted no time getting our lines in the water. The water conditions were excellent, with just the right mix of depth and current to target the Walleye. We employed a variety of techniques, including DeepSea fishing, Jigging, and Trolling, to cover different areas of the river and find where the fish were holding. The action was steady throughout the trip, and we managed to land a nice mix of Walleye. The fish put up a great fight, testing our skills and keeping the excitement high. In between catches, we took in the beautiful St. Croix River scenery and enjoyed the camaraderie of the group. It was just an all-around fantastic morning on the water.
